Actually, what is representative of GD heads, is the fact that they came from every walk of life, every political bent, and every economic situation, to partake in what was a fine ensemble of musicians, playing fine music, for everyone to enjoy.
There is no Universal Mind for DeadHeads, quite the opposite in fact, a more diverse group of folks cannot be found anywhere else.

The people of this country are mostly decent, but lazy and ignorant and powerless. The least we can do is admit that the elites hate our freedom and undermine our democracy, and are slowly bleeding us dry.

The Fed complains that entitlements are the cause of a budget crisis but ignore runaway military spending and corporate subsidies. It's no secret really.

Just click Edit, or send in the good ole boys for the brain washing to wipe out unpleasant memories.

Ok trolls, attack!

“There was a universal mind of sorts that made Dead shows better being inside than outside. At least in the Bay Area you could leave your stuff and it would still be there when the show was over; and you didn't have to worry about fights or being robbed like at other bands' shows.”

That’s great that you’re part of a universal mind. I choose to think for myself.

”Maybe it really was a Bay Area thing, and Alabama hates us because of our freedom. Rhetoric surely but true. “

Explain what freedoms exist in California that don’t exist in Alabama. Please be specific. What the fuck does ‘rhetoric surely but true’ mean?

”Then again, a shadowbox of the apocalypse would include satans to mislead the prideful. Perhaps that was part of the creative tension, and part of the scene that left trash everywhere.”

I hate those damn stinking “satans”.

”I notice, direwolf0701, that you can only muster a claim of "serious issues" but have nothing substantive to say except Fox News/Archie Bunker level comments and beyond into outright racist war-mongering. If I think I see it I'll post.”

I think I’d love to see it. Seriously, if you can offer hard proof Direwolf is a racist, I’d love to see it.

”But does anyone really think the US is making the world better now than when my aunts and uncles started trying to find new answers in mass in the 60s?”

What answers did they find? I mean, if you’re going to make a statement like that, please offer some proof that your aunts and uncles did something to make the world better. What tangible results can I see around me today are a result of something your relatives did.

”The people of this country are mostly decent, but lazy and ignorant and powerless. The least we can do is admit that the elites hate our freedom and undermine our democracy, and are slowly bleeding us dry.”

Funny, I don’t feel bled dry. Maybe it’s because I’m so ignorant, though. In any case, I’m too lazy to find out. And how do I know that you’re not one of “the elites”? Or even “a satan” for that matter?

”The fed complains that entitlements are the cause of a budget crisis but ignore runaway military spending and corporate subsidies. It's no secret really.”

When you say “the fed”, are you referring to the Federal Reserve Bank? The Federal Government? What? Also, some quotes of these “complaints” that have come from ‘the fed” would be helpful, since it’s very difficult to ascertain what it is you’re talking about here. Examples, please.

”There is truth and it cannot be hidden or killed forever. God is the best of planners, so take heed. This is no personal threat -- we're all subject when it comes to global warming and a rising tide.”

And let me guess: you’re just the sort of person who’ll be happy to fill me in on what the “truth” really is, right? And anyway, if it was a personal threat, there would be little I could do, being lazy and ignorant and powerless and all.

”Maybe I'm dodging lions and wasting time, but I have a sense of urgency lately about the long time gone I'm headin' for.”

My advice: watch out for the lions.
